PTFE Professor Named 2006 Fiber Society Lecturer

Atlanta (May 19, 2006) — Georgia Tech School of Polymer, Textile & Fiber Engineering (PTFE) Professor Dr. Haskell Beckham was recently named a Fiber Society lecturer for 2006.

The Fiber Society sponsors lectureships that are designed to acquaint students and faculty members at selected United States colleges and universities with the scientific challenges and opportunities in the areas of fiber science, engineering, and technology. Beckham will lecture on magnetic resonance applications in textile and fiber science and the wicking of fluids in fibrous substrates.

In addition to serving a PTFE associate professor, Beckham holds an adjunct appointment in Georgia Tech’s School of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 1986 and his doctoral degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1991.
