Dr. Wayne Tincher, a Professor Emeritus of Polymer, Textile & Fiber Engineering, is interested in polymer thermal and UV degradation, improvements in efficiency of wet chemical processing of textile materials, and environmental issues in textile processing. He also is deeply involved in apparel and carpet manufacturing technology research.
Dr. Tincher worked for the Monsanto Company as a research chemist and group leader. He has served as Acting Director of the School of Polymer, Textile & Fiber Engineering at Georgia Tech, Research Director for the Apparel Manufcturing Technology Center and is currently Research Site Director for the National Textile Center.
Dr. Tincher is a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, Sigma Xi, the Fiber Society, and Society for Imaging Science and Technology.
