Dr. Malcolm B. Polk is a Professor Emeritus in the School of Polymer, Textile & Fiber Engineering. His research interests include the synthesis of liquid crystalline polymers with unusual structures, synthesis and characterization of polymers, and temperature resistant polymers.

Dr. Polk was a research chemist in the Plastics Department of the DuPont Company from 1965-67 and 1968-72. He served as a faculty member of the Chemistry Department at Atlanta University from 1973-1985, where he also served as Director of the Industr ial Chemistry and Polymer Research Center programs. Dr. Polk is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Phi Lambda Upsilon Professional Fraternity.
